Adobe Developer App Builder Now Available: Extend and Integrate with Adobe Solutions in Minutes
Our framework for extending Adobe solutions is now available for all Adobe Experience Manager customers.
We’re excited to announce that, as of today, Adobe Developer App Builder — our unified third-party extensibility framework for integrating and creating custom experiences that work seamlessly with Adobe applications — is available now for all Adobe Experience Manager customers and coming soon for Adobe Commerce.
App Builder provides a more unified experience of extending and customizing Adobe tools for developers and reduces the time it takes to create apps from days to 15–30 minutes, as observed in past Adobe hackathons.
Since our Developer Preview release in May 2020, we have continued to add new functionality to App Builder including support for additional templates, extensions, tooling and service enhancements, and more. All of this is to ensure App Builder is your production tool of choice when extending Adobe applications.
In addition, we’ve worked closely with customers and partners participating in our developer preview. This collaboration has helped us continuously optimize our platform and services to provide better scalability and performance for all use cases — from microservices to single-page applications.
Teams within Adobe are also using App Builder to build incredible things. For example, App Builder was used to support features on Adobe.com during Adobe MAX in October 2021. Providing personalized recommendations for each visitor, the App Builder application was able to dynamically scale to support MAX traffic without any incidents.

The trial is a great way to get a taste of App Builder and the kind of applications you can create with it. We are confident that you are going to like the experience. If you do, you can easily upgrade to a paid plan, which will allow you to take advantage of production-level usage.
All the apps that you’ve built as part of the trial will still work under the paid plan. You can use the established community support channels — GitHub and our forum — to get connect with our team and get any help you need.
The future of App Builder
The general release of App Builder is a huge milestone for us at Adobe. The framework has seen immense popularity since it was launched for developers, and it demonstrates that you, our customers, want and need to extend and integrate with the out-of-the-box capabilities of Adobe applications for your specific business needs.
We are excited to continue to support your need to build and to extend your Adobe solutions. Your feedback is therefore massively important for the future of App Builder.
Extension and integration are critical for today’s digital experiences, and we’re really excited to take App Builder to the next level. Soon, we’ll be expanding this general availability to other Adobe applications, like Adobe Commerce to help you maximize the value of Adobe applications. The future is wide open as we stride towards a more extensible future that empowers developers.
